How does social media and technology effect our connections?

Social Media, Text Messaging, the Web, and Television have brought to us many advances in technology and communication. Some would even argue that it has brought us set backs. From MJ's funeral media caos on television to the Tour De France 2009 Standings on blogs.

How has social media helped you connect? You can stay in touch with long time friends, who you wouldn't normally stay in close contact with. You can live vicariously through flickr or twitter feeds. You can even track the news of celebrities like Nicole Bobek (the former skating champ who recently received fraud charges), find more information about potential employees, or watch live feeds of events on hulu (like the Michael Jackson funeral).

Does social media effect our connections with other people though? What about technologies effect on actually living life? What if we are texting instead of enjoying a date or are checking facebook instead of going out to live life with real people? How many people do you know that check their friend's facebook statuses every 5 minutes instead of going out and doing something with said friends? I know I've been that person from time to time. I've also know plenty of friends or dates who would rather talk on their phone then listen to the person sitting in front of them. In fact I have a friend, Mike Kraabel, who made a video for the 48 film festival on just this topic. Watch it here: http://vimeo.com/5159978

Mammal Jonas - Using Bugs or Plants to Make Human Vaccines - GMOs

Mammal Jonas is the latest news in the science industry. Thanks to social media, I discovered this little interesting piece of news. In short, Japanese research scientists are playing with the genetic engineering of bugs, mosquitoes to be specific. The scientists want to use mosquitos to spread vaccines. Think about that though, what are vaccines? Just smaller doses of a virus so can't they see that this could get out of hand!?

Regardless, the Natural News is calling this experiment the vaccine of the future, but the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation disagrees. In 2008 Bill gates granted scientists a $100,000 to research the genetic engineering of "bug vaccines."

What else is on the table? Food as a vaccine, think of it, instead of getting the flu shot you eat your steak and bam flu vaccine. How is this possible? GMOs. What does GMO stand for? Genetically modified Organisms, or basically people playing with genetics or plants to make them perform better or do things they wouldn't normally do. Scientists are actually toying with the genetics of your Meat and Poultry. Salvage noted in the Business Journal, that researchers at Iowa State University are working on creating a method to install vaccines into corn crops.

"We're trying to figure out which genes from the swine influenza virus to incorporate into corn", stated Hank Harris, a researcher on the project. "If a swine flu virus breaks out, the corn could be shipped to the location to try to vaccinate animals and humans in the area quickly. . . . there is no need for extensive vaccine purification, which can be an expensive process."

So what would the upside be? You get the immunity of a vaccine, without needles, and it's cheaper. Bad news? They don't label GMO's and what if you ate too much? Many reasearchers note that these food vaccines can include genetically engineered Trojan Horses with health ramifications and additional vaccination hazards.

Worse yet, what if you don't want the vaccination? For whatever reason you don't want the vaccination, but as part of the Patriot Act, the Obama administration has the right to enforce vaccinations in the case of an epidemic or pandemic flu breakout. There is even a, "Model State Emergency Health Powers Act," which will give federal funding to states that adopts it. With this model police receive absolute power to enforce these vaccinations, including detaining anyone who doesn't receive said vaccine and seizure of private property. The Obama administration is also considering a program that will ensure EVERYONE gets 3 vaccines a year.

From a Washington Post article of May 6, 2009, "The Obama administration is considering an unprecedented fall vaccination campaign that could entail giving Americans three flu shots -- one to combat annual seasonal influenza and two targeted at the new swine flu virus spreading across the globe. If enacted, the multibillion-dollar effort would represent the first time that top federal health officials have asked Americans to get more than one flu vaccine in a year, raising serious challenges . . . (with) the ability to track potentially severe side effects." So who do you want to make your health decisions?

The Natural News made a good point in saying, "You may think that all this is beneficial. That at least the consequences of any epidemic or pandemic would be ameliorated. Actually, mass inoculations have a history of disaster, not publicized in the mass media, that you can read about if you go to some of the source links or urls after this article. A major one was the so called "Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 when military personnel were required to be vaccinated for the first time."

Even the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons opposes enforced vaccinations because it violates the ethics of mutual consent. Congressman and former presidential primary candidate Ron Paul, who is also a physician, made this comment. "When we give government the power to make medical decisions for us, we, in essence, accept that the state owns our bodies." They may own Military personnel but do you want them to own you? Seriously if Military personnel get a serious sunburn they get a fine.

So what does all this have to do with social media, twitter, facebook, or popular media? Not much, but I'm sick of reading about drunk stars, dead celebrities, and ignoring real world issues. So I thought I would just bring one up and enlighten you.

For More information, and scientists opinions on the matter (from the Natural News):

Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, MD, author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills among other books, suggests that a single vaccine can cause brain damage for two years and five vaccinations would massively increase the risk of Alzheimer's Disease.

Dr. Len Horowitz, a most thorough medical investigator states, "Casually substituting vaccination for immunization mystifies the masses. Immunization is not man-made toxin-injection. It is the natural body-guarding response to foreign proteins and germs, the most lethal of which have been transmitted to humanity through contaminated vaccines and blood supplies."

Dr. James R. Shannon, former director of the National institute of health declared, ". . . the only safe vaccine is one that is never used."

In his article Why You Should Avoid Taking Vaccines, Dr. James Howenstine, MD, cites an episode where a Dr. W. Torch was able to document 12 deaths in infants which appeared within 19 hours of a DPT immunization. Then he studied 70 cases of SIDS. Two thirds of these victims had been vaccinated from one half day to 3 weeks prior to their deaths. None were attributed to vaccines by the medical establishment or the mass media.

From Dr. Boyd Haley, professor and chair, Department of Chemistry, University of Kentucky: "A single vaccine given to a six pound newborn is the equivalent of giving a 180 pound adult 30 vaccinations on the same day." "You couldn't construct a study to show that thimerosal (mercury in vaccines) is safe. It's just too damn toxic".

From a website promotion for a DVD entitled Shoot 'Em Up the Documentary, comes this information. "Did you know that we give children 23 viruses before they reach the age of 5? Did you know autism skyrocketed after the addition of more vaccines on the mandatory schedule and did you know that these vaccines contain thimerosal, which is ethyl mercury?" By the way, mercury is considered more toxic than lead and second in toxicity only to uranium.

Most vaccines are cocktails of pathogens from cultures derived from aborted fetuses or animal tissues. Thimerersol or ethyl mercury is not the only additive or preservative. Dr. Rima E. Laibow, MD, lists the ingredients common to vaccines, with some of her own comments, including, "If children receive all recommended vaccines, they will receive many times the supposed 'allowable safe limit' for mercury in the first two years of life.

Additional ingredients include antibiotics, aluminum gels, formaldehyde, monosodium glutamate (MSG), aluminum "which when combined with silicon deficiency and fluoride, results in the neurofibrillary tangles seen in Alzheimers disease, formaldehyde, MSG," a potent neurological excitotoxin which, like aspartame, can cause seizures, brain tumors, etc.

Dr. Rima goes on: "Squalene, a response enhancer or adjuvant, is present in many modern vaccines and is highly irritating to the immune system. . . . (used in) Anthrax vaccine in Gulf War

An investigative journalist, Joe Vaills, now deceased, did a report on his website that disclosed a simple observation. The French troops from Gulf War I did not experience Gulf War Syndrome, and they were the only ones who did not receive Anthrax vaccinations!

What if the toxic materials are removed from vaccines? Many health experts point out the problem with bypassing the body's immune system by injecting antibodies. Dr. Rebecca Carley, MD explains, "All mammals . . . contain secretory IgA, an antibody which initiates the natural God given immune response within the respiratory tract mucosa. Bypassing this mucosal aspect of the immune system by directly injecting organisms into the bloodstream leads to a corruption in the immune system itself."

Dr. Vernon Coleman says, "My own view is that vaccinations are unsafe and worthless."

Dr. Robert W. Simpson, of Rutgers University, warned that "immunization programs against flu, measles, mumps and polio may actually be seeding humans with RNA to form provirus's which will then become latent cells throughout the body ... they can then become activated as a variety of diseases including lupus, cancer, rheumatism and arthritis."

Dr. Viera Scheibner concluded that "there is no evidence whatsoever of the ability of vaccines to prevent any diseases. To the contrary, there is a great wealth of evidence that they cause serious side effects."

Jonas and Darrell Salk warned in Science magazine of March 4, 1977 that "Live virus vaccines against influenza or poliomyelitis may in each instance produce the disease it intended to prevent, (and) the live virus against measles and mumps may produce such side effects as encephalitis (brain damage)."

Michael Jackson Memorial Service Worldwide Televised

Michael Jackson's memorial service is televised on major television and online tv networks worldwide. E! (the cable network) is even going to show the Jackson Memorial live, all day. Although this is not unusual, most major networks from the USA to Europe are planning to cover Michael Jackson's memorial live, including online networks like Hulu.com, cable networks like MTV, ABC, Black Entertainment Television (BET), VH1, MSNBC live and TV One. According to Billboard.com MTV even plans to "rebrand the channel "Michael Jackson Television" on Aug. 1, the cable network's 28th birthday." The Michael Jackson Memorial Service televised event will start at 10:00 AM PST for those who aren't able to attend or can't watch it online.

8750 people received tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial service, which is not even half of the Michael Jackson fans worldwide, so obviously most fans will have to pay their respects to Mr. Jackson online or through their television sets. You should be able to start watching the Michael Jackson memorial service online, now! Personally I've found that the Michael Jackson memorial service tv coverage invasion of all channels a bit much, don't get me wrong I love MJ, but all day long on every available basic channel, is a bit much. However, I am loving some of the tribute MJ tv and music specials.

So pop star, Michael Jackson's live memorial service live from this Tuesday morning was held at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

If you didn't receive Michael Jackson Memorial Service Tickets, don't dismay. Just don't forget to watch this historic event of the Michael jackson memorial service time is set for 10:00 AM PST, and will air on most channels all day long. Enjoy MJ fans!
specials.

About the MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL SERVICE

Mariah Carey and her lifelong friend and backing singer Trey Lorenz began the memorial service by singing to the very full crowd with their version of "I'll be there." Many have critized Trey's singing on television, and on Facebook the rough comments continue to roll with everything about Trey Lorenz being a "bad gay singer" to his voice isn't what it used to be in 1992. CNN's live coverage even briefly broke up during the song and then returned, for an unknown reason. Mariah Carey finished their song with a quick, "Thank you Jesus-we'll miss you (Michael)."

Ms. Carey declared, “Thank you Jesus–we'll miss you.” The service was followed by many other celebrities giving their condolences and wishing off the pop star. This list included Queen Latifah read a poem by Maya Angelou "We Had Him," singer and motown colleague Lionel Richie perfomed “Jesus is Love.” At 12:36 Pastor Lucius Smith stated that Jackson was "revered as an idol, hero and king" worldwide. Other performers and famous guests included Motown, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Barry Gordon, and Lionel Richie. Many of the press are even noting this event to be as big as the Diana and Charles royal wedding or the death of Elvis. There was actually an applause when the casket was brought out, which felt a bit circus like considering the occassion. His open casket gave everyone the opportunity to say their good byes a little more personally with the king of pop.

All of this seems to have over shadowed the death of Steve McNair (former all-star quarterback for Tennessee Titans) and his mistress Sahel Kazemi. While widowed wife still isn't talking about the deaths publically. Photos for Steve McNair's wife have become increasing popular online.
