Having flash isn't inherently bad for SEO. Making one whole page is because flash is seen as images to search engines. When the robots or spiders as they are called go to index content and sites text followed by links back to your site from other sites, then good code and meta data are all very important factors.
If all of your site is static but the home page it may still be a big deal or maybe not. The real question is if your navigation is in flash or photos with out alt tags, a solid site structure, a site map and other links for your site elsewhere. Your best bet with SEO is to have text SOMEWHERE on every page, visible not hidden, and with a solid header that has keywords in it.
Public relations, pay-per click and social media are all wonderful tools for driving traffic to your store or website but the biggest thing in sales will always be your helpful staff, customer service and how well your site sells itself.
