My father always says you cannot ride two horses at the same time. I like to say, you can do anything, but not everything. Learn to be present where you are; give your all to whatever you’re currently doing.
Focused energy is power, and it’s the difference between success and failure. -- DumbLittleMan.com
The geeks of the world have got gadget ADHD. We are unable to focus as long as wifi, a shiny object or booz are present. I've been on dates where the guy stares at his phone more then me or tweets more then he chats with me. I've been to events where the entire presentation is tweeted by over a hundred people and streamed live, but when you leave only a hand full of them remember enough to implement the lessons into their daily streams. On a weekly basis I have requests from clients to get things done yesterday. To be available 24/7 for 40+ people is impossible, but I understand that every request is important and a priority. What I beg of my colleagues, clients, and friends is to FOCUS before life passes you by. Enjoy the little moments that take your breath away, that is from Hitch and is one of my favorite movie lines. As long as you are not participating in your own life now and again, you may wake up one day to find out you've missed some of the best moments and trust me their are more important things than SEO wars.
