I'm testing out giving up cable and internet at home as an excuse to get out more. I realized I have a minor addiction to cable/internet and want to live a fuller life then sitting in front of the boob tube. To remove the temptation I'm testing out shutting it off. The first few days sucked, but I think it is exactly the change I was looking for in my life. I've left home every day since making the decision.
Only down side is I now either have to go to the office or coffee shop to work. So if something is an emergency it still can be done, but there will be no more 5am working on the weekends for this kid. 8am-11pm during the week is more than enough. Life is too short not to live it. I love my work, but you should only spend so much time on electronics. Work to live not live to work.
We'll see how long it lasts.
