Do you answer the telephone the same way that you have always do when taking customer calls? "So-and-so house of widgets, how can we help you?" Do you sound happy and excited on the phone when you're speaking, or do you sound laborious in speaking to the customer? Change up how you answer the telephone, it will bring excitement to you and to your customers.
When working on marketing for your product or service, do you have an old standby that you always use, or do you present your company as fresh and exciting, even though you may have been in the business for 10, 20 or 30 years? How about your companies online presence, did your website get designed in the 90's with some text, a few images and an email address and phone number to contact you? If there has been progress that's been made in marketing, technology and development that your company can take advantage of to improve the image and freshness or your company, take it! Move forward instead of standing still.
Maybe your first step forward to keep your business fresh is a new logo design that's sharper and more product or service specific. Not all change is bad, change can be a step towards growth and improvement. Just as people look forward to fresh foods at a farmers market, freshening up your businesses image can show your customers that you have a vibrant and progressive company.
